Mapping the Best Farm Stands on the Western Slope

open signIf you love to preserve food and live in Colorado, then bookmark this page.  For the past 5 years my fellow Colorado State University Extension agents and I have taken our Master Food Safety Advisors for a tour of the best farm stands throughout the Western Slope of Colorado.

This is a map of some of my favorite farm stands for buying high quality produce for canning and freezing.  I will keep updating it, so feel free to leave the name of your favorite farm stand in the comment section below and I'll check it out.

After 6 years of sailing Snowcat II we brought her to Saint Augustine and turned her over to her new owners. Our land-based adventures from The Boat (Steamboat) will continue…stay tuned!

Fortunately I can usually find plantains and Plantain Chips with Sriracha Yogurt Sauce is a crowd favorite. Fellow Steamboat cruisers Sarah & Chris shared this recipe with me. We were preparing to leave Stocking Island when a fellow cruiser took this picture of our boat as the sun came up. Thank you Robert Hill aboard m/v Change of Pace, for taking this photo and for letting me share it. Robert entered it in the local cruisers photo contest and won first prize!
